Dorney Lake Marathon
and 6 Hour Challenge
Thursday 13th June 2019
A flat marathon consisting of 10 out and back laps of the private driveway through the nature reserve at Dorney Lake. All finishers will receive a medal and a stack of chocolate. Dorney Lake is a world class venue for rowing events. Our event will be somewhat less grand and held on land not water. However, in our opinion and based on regular experience, this is a great venue for a long run.
We have arranged exclusive use of the driveway through the nature reserve for the day, which increases the cost of this event but does mean that the flat route is free from any other users of the estate, allowing you to relax and enjoy the scenery.
The race will start at 09.00 with a 7 hour cut off.
Alternatively you can enter the 6 hour challenge event starting at the same time and join us for a shorter or longer run, each lap is 2.62 miles and you can run as many or as few as you wish in the 6 hour limit (you cannot start a lap after this time but you can complete a lap that you have started even if your finish time is a little over 6 hours).
Eton College Rowing Centre, Dorney Lake, off Court Lane, Windsor, Berks SL4 6QP - 3 miles from M4 junction 7
For Sat Nav users enter Court lane, Windsor, then junction with Marsh lane as postcode takes you further into the village.
From M4 Junction 7, take 1st exit at roundabout onto the A4 Bath Road towards Maidenhead, continue to Sainsbury's roundabout and take the 1st exit following signs to Dorney lake, after 1.3m when you come to the tight left hand bend, turn right into Court Lane. Continue past the small car-park on your right and at the fork keep right around the top of the lake and parking is available in the marked area.
